Reports to: RUSC Board of Directors
Job Purpose:
The Competitive Director shall be responsible for the operation of all competitive leagues, as
defined by MYSA/TCSL including the formation of teams and recruitment of coaches as well as
other duties assigned:
Responsibilities:
• Staff members will need attend board meetings when possible and/or provide secretary with updates for monthly meetings.
• Staff members are not eligible to have voting privileges on the Board, however they are also welcomed to hold other RUSC board positions that would give them voting privileges.
General Duties:
• Determine availability and interest of players.
• Recruit new coaches.
• Coordinate all activities among coaches of Travel teams.
• Coordinate background checks, code of conduct forms, and concussion training. Ensure Risk Coordinator is provided all documents for record keeping.
• Submit annual budget for competitive programs.
• Approve coaches’ team assignment and roster decisions.
• Review coaches’ performance and provide feedback.
• Work with Facilities to create practice schedule.
• Administration of post-season surveys and provide recap assessment to board.
• Develop and oversee yearly player evaluations to create competitive teams to implement and further develop RUSC’s competitive soccer program while embodying the RUSC mission statement.
• Point of contact for all competitive team coaches, managers, and Referee Assignor
• Work with the Risk Manager/Field Maintenance to ensure competitive fields for use
• Schedule team pictures with photographer
• Conduct Parent/player meetings prior to start of season.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
• Past or current experience in soccer
• Grass roots certificates
Preferred Qualifications:
Class "D" or higher certificates
